Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vanderley Ferreira (ranked 274 p4p, 1094 weight class) and Maddox Hurst (ranked 35 p4p, 135 weight class). Hurst has chosen I See a Darkness - Acid Pauli feat Johnny Cash as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurst rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Ferreira to counter with a crisp jab.
Hurst misses with a body kick.

and Ferreira counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Ferreira wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hurst keeps working.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ferreira takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ferreira is breathing heavily.
Hurst on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Hurst is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Ferreira flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Ferreira is out cold! Hurst holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
