Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Xavi Yurchon (ranked 3763 p4p, 3562 weight class) and Mike Puncherson (ranked 0 p4p, 323 weight class). Yurchon comes to the cage accompanied by X-Men 97 Intro. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Sergei Dronov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yurchon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Puncherson on his heels. He'll look to pass Puncherson's guard now, I'm sure.
Yurchon's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Yurchon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Puncherson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Yurchon, into his guard.
Puncherson wants to stand but Yurchon is controlling his posture from full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yurchon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Puncherson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Puncherson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Yurchon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Puncherson defends it easily.
Puncherson wants to stand but Yurchon is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yurchon looking for a guillotine here but Puncherson defends easily.
Yurchon is looking for a triangle but Puncherson pushes his legs off easily.

Puncherson wants to stand but Yurchon is controlling his posture from full guard.
Puncherson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yurchon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Yurchon pulls Puncherson in close to prevent any damage.
Yurchon is looking for a triangle but Puncherson pushes his legs off easily.
Puncherson tries to stand but Yurchon is controlling from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Yurchon is looking to cinch up a triangle. Puncherson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Yurchon's body to avoid the submission. Yurchon has instead reached around Puncherson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Yurchon arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Xavi Yurchon!
