Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Warren Ramirez (ranked 25350 p4p, 2440 weight class) and Maximus Meridius (ranked 193 p4p, 101 weight class). Meridius has chosen “Remember the Name” – Fort Minor as his entrance music. Maximus Meridius has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Warren Ramirez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Maximus Meridius! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meridius looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ramirez shoots in looking for a takedown but Meridius manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ramirez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Meridius rushes Ramirez and presses him up against the cage. Ramirez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ramirez tries for a takedown but Meridius manages to get underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warren Ramirez. That's going to take a lot out of him. A right hand to the body from Meridius.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Meridius dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Meridius continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Meridius after a bit of a struggle. A body shot lands from Meridius.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Meridius works on Ramirez's body with a couple of short punches. Ramirez is breathing heavily. Meridius's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Meridius lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Meridius lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Ramirez tries for a takedown. No joy.
Meridius's coach down at Deathsquad was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Meridius's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Meridius lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ramirez backwards. Meridius makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Meridius stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Meridius scores with a shoulder strike. Meridius lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ramirez backwards. Meridius lands a right hand that snaps the head of Ramirez backwards. Meridius lands with a light punch inside. Meridius scores with an uppercut up the middle. Meridius lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Meridius works on Ramirez's body with a couple of short punches. Meridius has Ramirez pushed against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Meridius.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Ramirez has had enough of the clinch but Meridius keeps him there for the moment. Meridius lands with a short shot to the head. A short right hand to the side of the head by Meridius. Meridius lands a body punch in the clinch. Meridius throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ramirezs head. A short left from Meridius. Meridius lands with a short head shot on the inside. Meridius leaning against his opponent.
Meridius lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ramirez backwards. Ramirez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Meridius is working Ramirez over against the cage. Meridius lands a body punch. Meridius works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Meridius lands a shoulder strike. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Meridius pushes Ramirez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Meridius lands with a right to the head. Meridius stalls. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Meridius creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Meridius lands on the inside with an uppercut. Meridius lands a body punch in the clinch. Meridius lands with a left to the head. Meridius scores with a shoulder strike. Meridius lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Meridius working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Maximus Meridius dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Meridius connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Ramirez out cold! This one is over in a flash!

A very excited looking Maximus Meridius made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
