The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Scott shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Karelin pinned against the cage. Karelin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Karelin stuffs the takedown.

Karelin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

It looks like Karelin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
We've been hearing good reports from Scott's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
