Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kaede Kitano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mathew Nielsen!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielsen shoots and misses
and Kitano counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nielsen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kitano tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nielsen is in Kitano's guard.
The fighters are working up against the cage. Kitano manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Nielsen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nielsen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Kitano knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nielsen on the ground.
Kitano controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Nielsen has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Kitano has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kitano misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Nielsen successfully pulls guard.
Kitano has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Nielsen wants to sweep here but Kitano controlling him for the moment.

Nielsen is looking to cinch up a triangle. Kitano throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Nielsen's body to avoid the submission. Nielsen has instead reached around Kitano's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Nielsen arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
