Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jair Villanueva (ranked 3165 p4p, 4526 weight class) and Scott Pearson (ranked 318 p4p, 393 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jair Villanueva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Scott Pearson! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Pearson slips under a jab from Villanueva. Villanueva misses with a right hand and Pearson counters with a stiff right hand. Villanueva loads up on a big right hand but Pearson slips the punch. A little jabbing left from Pearson on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pearson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
 It looks like Scott Pearson has been cut. Villanueva dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pearson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Villanueva in his tracks. Pearson moves out of range as Villanueva strikes. Pearson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Villanueva.
A swing and a miss from Villanueva. Pearson misses the shot to the body.
Villanueva gets in close and instigates a clinch. This has been an exciting period of action! Villanueva blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Villanueva throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Villanueva lands a right hand. Pearson tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson working aggressively here.
Villanueva lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Pearson backwards. A head punch blocked on the inside by Villanueva. Villanueva throws a head punch that misses. Villanueva lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Villanueva breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Villanueva throws a hook but Pearson blocks it. Villanueva looks to throw the jab but Pearson is out of range. Villanueva falls off balance throwing a combination
and Villanueva takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Villanueva throws an off balance right hand
enabling Pearson to counter with a crisp jab. Pearson lands a slapping body shot.
Pearson tests Villanueva's chin there with a solid looking shot. We've been informed that Pearson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Pearson misses with a few strikes there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pearson cracks Villanueva with a good jab.
 It looks like Jair Villanueva has been cut. Villanueva misses with a hook. Pearson ducked under it nicely.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Pearson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Villanueva misses the jab. Villanueva misses with a wild combination.
Villanueva thows a left - swing and a miss! Villanueva tries to bum rush Pearson with a series of wild strikes but Pearson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Pearson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Villanueva with a body shot. Villanueva ducks right into an uppercut from Pearson. Pearson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Villanueva. Pearson throws out a counter right but Villanueva avoids it with no problem. Villanueva definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Villanueva swings for the body but Pearson moves out of range.
A countering left hand to the body from Pearson misses. Villanueva has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Villanueva there as he acknowledges the shot. Pearson works Villanueva's body with a nice hook. Pearson connects with a body shot.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Villanueva throws a hook to the side of Pearson's head but Pearson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Villanueva misses with a two punch combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Pearson! But no joy. Pearson blocks a jab. A countering left hand to the body from Pearson misses. Pearson bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Villanueva's head. Nice shot by Pearson. A combination from Villanueva does no damage. Pearson looks like he wants to counter punch here. A decent looking cross lands there for Pearson. Pearson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Pearson's corner calls for a 1-2. Pearson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Villanueva on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Villanueva is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Pearson. Villanueva lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pearson circles away quickly and effectively. Pearson scores with a body shot.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Pearson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Villanueva takes one to the side of the head.
Villanueva throws an off balance right hand
and Pearson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pearson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Villanueva manages to avoid it. Villanueva swings widly with a right hand
and Pearson counters with a lovely shot to the body. Villanueva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Pearson lands a nice shot to the body.
Pearson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Pearson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Pearson works Villanueva's body with a nice hook. Jair Villanueva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Villanueva misses with a hook
and Pearson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
 Villanueva is rocked!
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Pearson throws an overhand right that drops Villanueva like a sack of potatoes! Pearson dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Scott Pearson! A very excited looking Scott Pearson made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
