The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lamez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
QQ steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lamez.

Lamez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
QQ lands a nice shot that snaps Lamez's head back.

We've been hearing reports that Lamez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Lamez throws out a loose jab but QQ uses good head movement to avoid it.

QQ is trying to trip Lamez. He has hold of a leg but Lamez is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. QQ persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Lamez wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

QQ decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Lamez, up you get!

QQ uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lamez.
QQ fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lamez manages to avoid it.
A little feinted left hand from Lamez on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
QQ throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lamez was covering up waiting for the punch and QQ finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lamez is pulling down on QQ's head to control his posture.

QQ stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lamez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

QQ drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and QQ jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lamez is on top in guard.
Lamez is sitting in close to QQ's body. QQ has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lamez is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lamez is tapping! That was a very nice submission by QQ.

A relieved looking Test QQ thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
