PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Ricky Hatton (ranked 2810 p4p, 5399 weight class) and Edward Krause (ranked 280 p4p, 419 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Hatton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Edward Krause!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hatton throws a sloppy head kick and Krause moves out of range easily.
It seemed like Krause was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Krause blocks a head kick by Hatton.
Hatton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Krause counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Krause looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hatton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hatton throws a sloppy head kick and Krause moves out of range easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Krause! But no joy.
Hatton tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hatton fails to land with a series of punches.
Krause dodges the punch combination from Hatton.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hatton plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Hatton doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Krause scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Hatton beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.
It looks like Ricky Hatton has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hatton closes the distance but Krause moves to the side
and Krause counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Hatton out cold! What a finish! Krause is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Edward Krause!
During a confident post fight interview, Edward Krause thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
