Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alonso Montes (ranked 1085 p4p, 2902 weight class) and Almanzor Sabet (ranked 142 p4p, 320 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alonso Montes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Almanzor Sabet! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sabet moves into the clinch successfully.
Sabet escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sabet throws a hook to the side of Montes's head but Montes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sabet fails to land with a series of punches.
Sabet displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Sabet looks to land a combination but Montes avoids it well. Montes thinks about countering with a head kick. Sabet throws a right hand that Montes ducks under and follows up with a left that Montes also avoids with ease. Jab, jab by Sabet - just one landing. Sabet lands a nice shot that snaps Montes's head back.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sabet lands the left hand.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Sabet rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Montes moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Montes swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Sabet scores with a hook. Sabet throws a right hand that misses
and Montes counters with a nice body shot. Montes moves forwards but Sabet connects with a nice, crisp jab. Sabet looks to land a combination but Montes avoids it well. Montes throwing a counter right hand but Sabet manages to avoid it. Sabet tries to clinch up. Sabet tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Montes counters with a nice uppercut.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Sabet misses with a series of wild punches.
Montes was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. The crowd cheers as Sabet lands an impressive looking overhand right. Montes doesn't seem phased though. Sabet throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Montes blocks a head kick by Sabet.
Montes is looking to counter punch. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sabet misses with a hook. Montes ducked under it nicely. Sabet has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Sabet throws a wild combination but nothing lands. It looked like Montes wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Sabet will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Sabet has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Sabet scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Sabet swinging wildly here.
Sabet feints a jab promting Montes to slip. Sabet then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Montes slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Montes swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sabet lands a nice shot that snaps Montes's head back.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Sabet tries to clinch but Montes moves away and Montes counters with a nice uppercut. Sabet throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Montes counters with a crisp right hand that drops Sabet! Montes lets Sabet back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
 Sabet is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Montes fails to land with a series of punches.
Sabet is still on wobbly legs! Can Montes finish him? Sabet misses with a two punch combination.
Sabet seems to have recovered his senses. Sabet fails to land with a series of punches.
Montes throws a big counter combination but Sabet scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Sabet misses with a body kick. A little feinted left hand from Montes on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Sabet tries to clinch up. Sabet doesn't manage to clinch there - Montes circles away.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Almanzor Sabet dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
A head kick misses from Montes. Sabet throws a nice looking combination but Montes bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sabet lands a jab. Sabet lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sabet. Montes moves out of range of the leg kick from Sabet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sabet swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Sabet misses with a combination
and Sabet takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
 That's one minute gone in the round. A combination from Sabet does no damage. Montes looks to score with a jab to the body but Sabet is just out of range.
Sabet closes the distance and clinches. Montes swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Sabet scores a nice knee to the body.
Sabet tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Sabet misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Montes.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Sabet. Sabet has a couple of punches blocked by Montes.
Montes makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Sabet breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Montes throws a right and a left that Sabet avoids nicely.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Montes lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sabet circles away quickly and effectively. A right-left combo lands from Sabet. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sabet fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sabet misses with a few strikes there.
Sabet looks to throw the jab but Montes is out of range. It looked like Montes wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. A low kick from Sabet misses
and Montes counters with a nice right hand that sends Sabet toppling to the canvas! Sabet scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Montes finish him?! Montes has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Sabet misses with a series of wild punches.

Montes takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Montes swats away the attempt to clinch by Sabet. Sabet has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Sabet uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Sabet stalks Montes and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Montes's face. Montes staggers backwards, shaken. Some wild striking there from Montes.
Sabet throws a head kick that misses and Montes scores with a counter punch that sends Sabet to the canvas! Montes smells blood - he's punishing Sabet with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Sabet has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Alonso Montes! Alonso Montes decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
