This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the light heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 14 losses; Harry Kim! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Tubbs Singleton! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, William Peck and Robert Douchet.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Kim will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Singleton slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Singleton pulls Kim in close to prevent any damage.

 That's fourteen minutes gone in the round. Kim stands and throws Singleton's legs to the side, diving into side control. Score +3 for passing guard: Kim (10) vs (7) Singleton Singleton can't do much from the bottom here. Singleton is not content to let Kim control the position. Singleton manages to get back to half guard. Kim with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Singleton is looking for a sweep. Kim is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Singleton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kim is working away from the top position though.
And that's the end of the fight! Kim takes the fight on points by 10 to 7. Harry Kim retains his light heavyweight title! After the fight, Harry Kim was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |
