Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Symian Rodgers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 156 - 39 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xxx Xxx!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodgers drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rodgers stays in close to Xxx's body and controls the position.
Rodgers stands up from Xxx's guard - Rodgers perhaps looking for a knockout.
Rodgers scores with a kick to the body.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Xxx has his takedown stuffed
and Rodgers counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rodgers shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Xxx as he avoids it easily.

I was talking to Rodgers's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Rodgers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Xxx feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Xxx must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

And Xxx tries to counter it with a takedown but Rodgers pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Rodgers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Xxx napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Xxx really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodgers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rodgers has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Rodgers lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Rodgers shoots in looking for a takedown but Xxx manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rodgers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

And Xxx responds with a good body kick, but Rodgers manages to step out the way in time.

Xxx has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rodgers avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
