Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rex Carlson (ranked 5226 p4p, 2782 weight class) and Galexio Pererism (ranked 436 p4p, 287 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Galexio Pererism!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pererism napping and manages to drive through into side control!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Carlson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pererism, up you get!
Rex Carlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carlson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Carlson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown attempt by Pererism or perhaps it was just good defense by Carlson, which made it look bad.
Rex Carlson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Galexio Pererism.

and Carlson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Pererism is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Pererism wants to control but Carlson is keeping busy.

Carlson is nestled in close to Pererism, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Carlson moves into full mount! Pererism won't be happy about that!

Carlson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Pererism knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Pererism for a finish.

Carlson is looking for the choke from the back position but Pererism is controlling his hands well.

Pererism is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Carlson gets his way!
