Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kuiga Tupua (ranked 5370 p4p, 5228 weight class) and David Eagle (ranked 466 p4p, 457 weight class). Tupua comes to the cage accompanied by The True Tempest. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Eagle!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tupua connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Eagle's hands.
Eagle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tupua.
Eagle throws a hook but Tupua avoids it easily.
Tupua swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Eagle looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Tupua misses with a right hand
and Eagle counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tupua takes a swing at Eagle's ribcage but misses.
Tupua moves out of range of the strikes.
Tupua paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
It looks like David Eagle has been cut.

and Eagle counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Tupua thinking.

and Eagle counters with a nice uppercut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tupua uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Eagle.
Eagle with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tupua to score with a decent uppercut.
Eagle lands a nice shot that snaps Tupua's head back.

Kuiga Tupua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Eagle cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Eagle looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Tupua throws the left hand but Eagle avoids the punch easily.
Eagle throws a hook to the side of Tupua's head but Tupua sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Tupua ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Tupua drops Eagle with a huge uppercut! Eagle drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Tupua is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kuiga Tupua!
An out of breath Kuiga Tupua thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
