Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between James Wong (ranked 5088 p4p, 5340 weight class) and Happy Wanis (ranked 479 p4p, 486 weight class). Happy Wanis has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Wong! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Happy Wanis! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wanis throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Wanis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wong takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Wong on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Wanis displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wong. Wong looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Wanis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wong's head. Wong avoids the head kick by Wanis.
Wanis lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Wanis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Wong's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Wanis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wong scrambles back to his feet. Wong tries for a takedown but Wanis circles away easily and Wanis counters with a good low kick that Wong was not able to check. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Wong. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wanis scores with a nice right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The fighters circle momentarily. Wanis darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wong feints and as Wanis raises his hands in defense, Wong changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wanis wants to stand but Wong is controlling the position. Wong working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Wanis's head. Wanis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Wong postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Wong keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Wanis's head. Wanis wants to stand and escape but Wong is having none of it. Wong is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Wanis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wong is controlling him. Wong lands a couple of elbows. Wong prevents Wanis from getting back to his feet. Wong is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wong lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Wong postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Wong chips away with some ground and pound. Wong landing some decent shots from guard. Wong chips away with some ground and pound.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Wong sitting in guard here, content to control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wanis can do anything to dispel that myth. Wong stops Wanis from standing up. Wong scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Wong stands up over Wanis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Wong with a nice head shot there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wanis wants to get back to his feet but Wong passes into half guard.
Well, if Wong is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Wong takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Wong is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Wong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Wong working over Wanis with some ground and pound. Wanis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Wong looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wanis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Wong working Wanis over with strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wong passes the guard and advances to mount! A nice elbow there by Wong.
 Wanis is rocked! Wong lands a big shot there that rocks Wanis but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Wanis is still in real trouble! Can Wong finish him? Wanis is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Wong content just to control the position here. A big strike lands for Wong! That's really hurt Wanis and he's turned his back - Wong keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Wong jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Wong! After winning the bout, James Wong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
