Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Naeem Qassem (ranked 1770 p4p, 1582 weight class) and Peni Vuki (ranked 209 p4p, 186 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peni Vuki!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Glass and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Qassem throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Vuki sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Qassem throws a right hand that misses
and Vuki counters with a left and a right that stings Qassem.
Vuki looks to land a right hand but Qassem moved out of range.
Vuki tries to clinch there but Qassem circles away.
A left lands for Vuki.
Vuki connects with a right hand. Qassem shakes it off.
A swing and a miss from Vuki.
Vuki misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Qassem.
Qassem ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Vuki ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Qassem moves away.
A counter left hand to the body from Qassem misses its target.
Vuki throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Qassem.
Qassem just misses with a punch to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Qassem connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Peni Vuki has been cut.
Vuki is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Vuki shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Qassem eats them both and turns towards Vuki to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Vuki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Qassem scores with a jab. Vuki acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Vuki throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Vuki slips a straight right by Qassem.
Vuki keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Qassem thuds a left hand into Vuki's body.
Vuki ducks under a wild hook from Qassem.
Vuki tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Qassem manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Qassem looks to score with a jab to the body but Vuki is just out of range.
Qassem misses with a lunging right hand
and Vuki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Qassem scores with a jab to the jaw.
Vuki lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Qassem throws a series of punches but Vuki moves out of range.
Vuki throws a lazy right hand but Qassem sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Qassem definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Vuki takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Vuki loses concentration momentarily and Qassem pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Vuki crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Qassem finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Naeem Qassem!
An out of breath Naeem Qassem thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
