Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mikko Rantanen (ranked 1255 p4p, 1870 weight class) and Dimitri Orlov (ranked 123 p4p, 178 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Orlov's choice of entrance music: Trikk - Proto-Rhyt (Black Version). Dimitri Orlov has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mikko Rantanen's chin.

The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rantanen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Dimitri Orlov has been cut.
Rantanen tries a low kick but Orlov avoids it.
Rantanen fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Orlov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Rantanen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Orlov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Orlov chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Rantanen can pounce on him.

Rantanen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Orlov.
Orlov connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A slow jab from Orlov misses its intended target.

Orlov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Rantanen scores with a hook to the body. Orlov takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Orlov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rantanen but Rantanen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As Orlov backs away, Rantanen returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

and Orlov counters with a shoot takedown. Rantanen fights it but they end up in guard.

Rantanen has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
