Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Philip Marcus (ranked 1531 p4p, 2120 weight class) and Liu Xan (ranked 152 p4p, 205 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 23 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Philip Marcus! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Liu Xan! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marcus connects with a high kick. Marcus misses with an uppercut
and Xan counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Marcus has been working on his boxing with his coaches at The Nomura Dojo in the buildup to the fight. Marcus connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
 It looks like Liu Xan has been cut. Xan staying out of range there. Marcus looks to land a left hand but Xan moved out of range nicely. Xan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Marcus moves away from the strike by Xan. Xan blocks a head kick by Marcus.
Marcus looks to throw the jab but Xan is out of range. Marcus jabs Xan to the body, keeping him at a distance. Marcus throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Marcus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Marcus tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Xan was well out of range. Poor timing from Marcus. A head kick by Marcus misses and Xan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Marcus is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Xan. The fighters circle momentarily. Xan darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Xan with a nice cross.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Xan throws a combination. Marcus tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Marcus throws a nice outside leg kick. Xan falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Marcus to counter with a crisp jab.
 Xan is rocked! Marcus dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Xan is still on wobbly legs! Can Marcus finish him? Marcus ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Xan swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Marcus is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Xan hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Philip Marcus! Philip Marcus seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
