Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rick Rodriguez (ranked 3057 p4p, 2251 weight class) and Adonis Ariti (ranked 230 p4p, 184 weight class). Rodriguez comes into the arena with Conga blaring out of the sound system. Ariti has chosen Shook Ones Pt 2 as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Rodriguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Adonis Ariti!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Percy O'Donnell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ariti shoots in and bounces Rodriguez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rodriguez has his feet on Ariti's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Rodriguez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ariti throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rodriguez was covering up waiting for the punch and Ariti finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Rodriguez has momentary wrist control but Ariti slips an elbow through the middle.

Ariti is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Ariti wants to control from the top but Rodriguez keeps moving.
Ariti has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rodriguez to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Ariti is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rodriguez pulls down on the head and he's put Ariti to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rick Rodriguez!
