The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakuraba drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sakuraba lands a few punches from side control.
Sakuraba is looking to take a break and control but Taraszewski is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sakuraba postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sakuraba tries to advance position but instead Taraszewski slips a leg back in to half guard.
Sakuraba is controlling the pace.

Sakuraba is trying to control the action in half guard but Taraszewski is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Sakuraba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Taraszewski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Taraszewski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Taraszewski.
Sakuraba prevents Taraszewski from getting back to his feet.

Sakuraba might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Taraszewski kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Sakuraba drops back, looking for a kneebar! Taraszewski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Taraszewski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Taraszewski!

Sakuraba tries to improve his position but Taraszewski has taken his back! Taraszewski has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Sakuraba tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Taraszewski pushes Sakuraba away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
