And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vergas gets caught napping as Pereira dives in and scores a takedown. Vergas manages to retain guard.
Pereira slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Pereira advances position into side control!
Vergas sneaks out the side door and pushes Pereira away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Pereira tries to clinch up
enabling Vergas to counter with a crisp jab.
Pereira shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Vergas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Vergas wants to get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Vergas can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pereira wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Vergas, who protects the arm well.

Pereira has an Americana. Vergas didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Pereira is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Pereira hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
