Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaisangur Susurkaev (ranked 2756 p4p, 4035 weight class) and Ipatiy Novikov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kaisangur Susurkaev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ipatiy Novikov! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown attempt by Novikov or perhaps it was just good defense by Susurkaev, which made it look bad.
Novikov gets the takedown into side control. Novikov working the ground and pound.
Novikov decides to take the fight back to the feet. Susurkaev tries to clinch there but Novikov circles away.
Susurkaev goes for a double leg but Novikov avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Novikov continues to drive forward. Novikov tries to land knees in the clinch but Susurkaev avoids the damage to the body.
Novikov has hold of one of Susurkaev's legs. Susurkaev is fighting the takedown attempt but Novikov gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Novikov is standing up over Susurkaev. Susurkaev looks to escape but Novikov dives into side control.
 We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Susurkaev is looking for a sweep.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Novikov just content to control the position. Susurkaev is looking to regain half guard here but Novikov keeps moving and retains side control.
Novikov tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Susurkaev manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Novikov keeps control of the position for the meantime. Novikov is trying to get back to full guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Susurkaev is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Novikov sees it coming and defends easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Novikov is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Novikov wants to control but Susurkaev is keeping busy.
Novikov wants to get back to full guard. Susurkaev trying to pass the guard but Novikov defending well.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Novikov is trying to get back to full guard. Novikov manages to get to full guard.
Novikov tries to land a sweep but no joy. Novikov has Susurkaev pulled in close to control his posture. Novikov keeping moving, preventing Susurkaev from controlling successfully. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Novikov can do anything to dispel that myth. Novikov has his hands on Susurkaev's head, controlling the position.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Novikov closes the distance and clinches up with Susurkaev, looking for a takedown. Novikov pushes Susurkaev against the cage but Susurkaev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Susurkaev misses with a body punch
and Susurkaev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Susurkaev crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Novikov - the referee stops the clock and Susurkaev gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Novikov. Susurkaev manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Novikov closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Susurkaev's guard. Novikov controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Novikov slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Susurkaev wants to get back to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ipatiy Novikov dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Novikov. Susurkaev seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Kaisangur Susurkaev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Novikov tries for a takedown but Susurkaev circles away easily
and Susurkaev counters by clinching up. Susurkaev tries to circle away but Novikov has him pinned against the cage. Susurkaev is looking to control Novikov's arms but Novikov gets an underhook and turns him. Now Susurkaev has his back to the cage. Susurkaev tries to pull guard but Novikov holds him up against the cage and eventually Susurkaev drops back down to his feet.
Novikov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Novikov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Susurkaev circles away. Kaisangur Susurkaev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ipatiy Novikov. Novikov shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Susurkaev eats them both and turns towards Novikov to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. A head kick misses from Susurkaev. A head kick misses from Susurkaev.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Susurkaev wants to clinch.

Susurkaev pushes Novikov off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Novikov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Susurkaev shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Novikov pinned against the cage. Novikov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Novikov tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Susurkaev defends well and Novikov ends up having to push Susurkaev into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
The fight moves into the clinch position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Susurkaev gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Novikov.
Novikov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Good work by Novikov as he checks the leg kick. Novikov shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Novikov leaves Susurkaev with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Novikov throws a head kick but Susurkaev moves out of range.
Novikov gets caught flat footed, as Susurkaev shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Novikov trying to control the position here. Susurkaev trying to control but Novikov is working from the bottom. Susurkaev stopping the sweep attempt from Novikov.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Novikov controlling the position. Novikov working a defensive guard here.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Susurkaev tries to clinch but Novikov is having none of it. Novikov looks to land a combination. Susurkaev sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Novikov throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Novikov fails with a takedown attempt. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ipatiy Novikov will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Novikov gets a clinch. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Novikov scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Novikov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Susurkaev can't fight it off and eventually Novikov manages to take the fight to the floor. Susurkaev looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Susurkaev controls Novikov momentarily but Novikov frees himself. Novikov tries to free his leg and advance position but Susurkaev is retaining full guard. Susurkaev is trying to control the position but Novikov postures up.

Susurkaev is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Novikov defends well. Novikov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Susurkaev is trying to keep Novikov in close.
Novikov stays in close to Susurkaev's body and controls the position.
 The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Novikov clinches up with Susurkaev and pushes him back against the cage.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Novikov can't get the takedown.
Susurkaev has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Novikov regains guard immediately. Novikov seems keen to control Susurkaev's posture. Susurkaev won't allow Novikov to sweep him here. Susurkaev has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Novikov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Novikov is working an open guard so Susurkaev takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Novikov moves into the clinch.
Novikov has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Susurkaev uses from the top position. Susurkaev not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Susurkaev pushing down on Novikov's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Novikov is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Susurkaev jumps into side control! The strikes coming from Susurkaev are missing the target in this wave of attacks. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. Novikov struggling a bit here.
Susurkaev goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Novikov has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Susurkaev but great work by Novikov. Susurkaev tries to bench press Novikov off him but Novikov keeps the position. Novikov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Susurkaev down.
Susurkaev seems a little lost for a moment, as Novikov dominates the positioning. Novikov trying to control the action but Susurkaev is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! Ipatiy Novikov comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Novikov has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
