Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Brennan (ranked 3908 p4p, 3424 weight class) and Jaxon Vex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Brennan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jaxon Vex!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brennan drives through with a takedown into Vex's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Vex is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Brennan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Vex trying to control the action but Brennan is working from the bottom.
Brennan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vex on the ground.
Vex working over Brennan with some ground and pound. Brennan looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vex looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Vex seems to be working for a kimura but Brennan defends the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vex is trying to control. Brennan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Brennan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vex slows the pace down in half guard.
Vex wants to stand up but Brennan has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Brennan is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Brennan regains full guard. Nicely done.
Brennan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vex is controlling him.

Brennan is trying to hold Vex in close to prevent damage but Vex has managed to pass into half guard.
Vex wants to take a breather but Brennan is having none of it.

Vex dives in and grabs Brennan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brennan pushes down on Vex's head and hops out.

Vex tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Brennan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vex swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Vex manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Brennan manages to get himself to full guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Vex thows a leg kick but Brennan checks it
and Brennan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Brennan is looking to advance position but Vex won't allow it.
Vex has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brennan is working away from the top position though.

Vex thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Brennan tries to clinch there but Vex circles away.
Vex closes the distance and clinches.
Vex escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vex is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brennan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Vex misses with a series of wild punches.
Vex moves into the clinch successfully.

Brennan jumps guard but Vex stands there with Brennan around his waist. Brennan gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Brennan tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vex has Brennan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brennan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Brennan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Vex walks away with a smile on his face. Brennan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hugo Brennan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Vex shoots in looking for a takedown. Brennan tries to sprawl out of it but Vex keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brennan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Brennan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vex tries to land a front kick but Brennan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Brennan goes for a double leg but Vex avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vex continues to drive forward.

Brennan prevents a body shot from Vex.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Brennan as Vex tries to tie him up.
Brennan is trying to break the clinch but Vex has him pressed against the cage.
Brennan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Vex struggles to land a body shot inside as Brennan controls his hands.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Vex.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Vex jumps into guard, dragging Brennan to the mat.
Brennan controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Vex had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brennan defends it easily.

Brennan's corner is telling him to maintain position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jaxon Vex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
Vex looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Vex pushes Brennan up against the cage in a clinch.
Vex tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Brennan changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Vex fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Vex tries to score a power double leg takedown but Brennan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Vex somewhat.
Hugo Brennan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaxon Vex.

Vex seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

No joy there for Brennan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vex is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Brennan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vex tries to avoid it but Brennan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vex to the ground. Vex escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Vex dives in for a single leg takedown but Brennan sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Brennan misses with a straight right.
Vex lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Vex drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brennan manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Vex is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Brennan throws a big counter combination but Vex scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hugo Brennan.
I think Vex has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
