Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Lakeside (ranked 25517 p4p, 2224 weight class) and Andrei Averyanov (ranked 0 p4p, 247 weight class). Averyanov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Drago's Entrance Theme. Jonathan Lakeside is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonathan Lakeside!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrei Averyanov!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good shot there by Averyanov.
Lakeside on the wrong end of a nice hook.
No luck for Lakeside with that takedown attempt.

Lakeside closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Averyanov to the mat! Averyanov manages to get full guard.
Averyanov utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lakeside throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lakeside drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Lakeside jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Lakeside drops back, looking for a kneebar! Averyanov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Averyanov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Averyanov!

Averyanov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lakeside.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lakeside fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Averyanov, pushing him back against the cage.
Averyanov lands with a left to the head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Averyanov has a couple of punches blocked by Lakeside.
Averyanov lands a body punch in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Averyanov.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

and Averyanov connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Averyanov throws a shot from downtown. Lakeside moves away and avoids it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Lakeside is taking a breather. Averyanov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Lakeside avoids the head kick by Averyanov.
Averyanov might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Lakeside tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Averyanov swivels and escapes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Averyanov! But no joy.
