Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Brian Blessed!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jamison Ritter!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ritter throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Brian Blessed has been cut.
Ritter looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ritter is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Blessed.
Ritter misses with a double jab
and Blessed holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ritter dodges an elbow strike from Blessed.
Ritter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Ritter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Blessed scores with a jab to the jaw.
Blessed misses the shot to the body.
Ritter is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Blessed with a body shot.
A shot to the body from Blessed misses
and Ritter counters with a straight right hand.
Blessed is looking to clinch.
Blessed wants to clinch up but Ritter keeps it at a distance.
A little jabbing left from Ritter on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Blessed connects with a right hand. Ritter shakes it off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ritter wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Blessed scores with a nice strike.
Blessed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ritter moves away.
Blessed lands a jab to Ritter's midsection.
Ritter throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Blessed counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ritter's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ritter duly obliges.
Blessed connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
It looks like Jamison Ritter has been cut.
Blessed jabs Ritter to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Blessed scores with a jab. Ritter acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
It looks like Blessed has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Ritter loads up on a big right hand but Blessed slips the punch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Blessed drops Ritter with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Ritter looks back up at him and smiles so Blessed waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Ritter is rocked!
Blessed cracks Ritter on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Ritter falls backwards against the cage. Blessed follows up with more strikes that drop Ritter to his knees. Blessed keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Ritter! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Blessed!
