Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Giannis Script (ranked 1947 p4p, 2572 weight class) and Derrick Dawson (ranked 212 p4p, 266 weight class). Dawson has chosen Freak Hoe as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Giannis Script!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Derrick Dawson!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Script cracks Dawson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Script rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dawson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jab, jab by Dawson - just one landing.
Script moves out of range of the strikes.
Dawson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dawson takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dawson. Script does a little dance to reset his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Dawson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Dawson walks straight into a right hand from Script - that's dropped him! Script jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Dawson from any more punishment! Dawson complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
