Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Matsubara (ranked 3432 p4p, 1134 weight class) and Felipe Miranda (ranked 300 p4p, 119 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nathan Matsubara! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Miranda! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Matsubara avoids the body shot from Miranda.
Miranda lands a really nice looking cross but Matsubara seems unphased.
Miranda rushes Matsubara and presses him up against the cage. Matsubara tries to pull guard but Miranda holds him up against the cage and eventually Matsubara drops back down to his feet.
Matsubara jumps guard but Miranda turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Miranda lands with a short shot to the head. Miranda stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Miranda lands an uppercut. Miranda lands with a light punch inside. Miranda looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Miranda lands an uppercut. Matsubara tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nathan Matsubara. That's going to take a lot out of him. Matsubara is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Miranda to keep the fight standing. A right hand to the body from Miranda.

Matsubara has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Grove Street Boxing in the buildup to the fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Miranda pushes Matsubara back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Miranda keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Felipe Miranda! After the fight, Felipe Miranda was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
