Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Colby (ranked 1214 p4p, 2393 weight class) and Yosef Yasir Yurchon (ranked 127 p4p, 227 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Colby!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yosef Yasir Yurchon!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Yurchon. No joy for Colby on that attempt.
Yurchon throws a hook to the side of Colby's head but Colby sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Colby drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Yurchon wants to stand but Colby is controlling the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Colby seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Yurchon for as long as he can get away with.

Yurchon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Colby moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Colby looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Yurchon wants to get back to his feet but Colby drags him back down.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Colby postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Colby remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Yurchon enables Colby to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yurchon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Colby seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

James Colby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Colby is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Colby is pressing down on Yurchon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Yurchon is holding on for now.

Yosef Yasir Yurchon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Colby is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yurchon is just riding it out for now. Colby eventually gives up the hold.

Colby has control of Yurchon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Yurchon regains control of the situation pretty easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yurchon can do anything to dispel that myth.

Colby has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Colby! Yurchon is hurt baaadly! Colby is firing away with more strikes - Yurchon is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:18 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Colby!
A determined James Colby didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
