And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kareem Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Franklyn Lucas and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lester pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sanchez closes the distance and pushes Lester back into the cage.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Lester forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Sanchez is trying to pull guard but Lester turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Lester has clasped his hands together around Sanchez's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Sanchez is trying to get back to half guard.
Sanchez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Sanchez is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez dodges the ground and pound from Lester.
Sanchez wants to control but Lester postures up.
Sanchez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Sanchez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lester is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sanchez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lester.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Lester wants to take a breather but Sanchez is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Sanchez is trying to maintain the position but Lester is very close to passing his half guard.
Lester wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sanchez keeps working.

Sanchez is looking to control Lester's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sanchez avoid being mounted?

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Lester closes the distance and pushes Sanchez back into the cage.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Lester won't allow it.
Baron Lester has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kareem Sanchez.
Sanchez jumps guard but Lester stands there with Sanchez around his waist. Sanchez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Lester holds him up against the cage and eventually Sanchez drops back down to his feet.
Sanchez is trying to pull guard but Lester turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Sanchez fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Lester ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lester no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lester can't keep his opponent in guard - Sanchez advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Sanchez is trying to work for a kimura but Lester is defending well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Baron Lester dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.


Sanchez takes the fight into the clinch.
Sanchez is trying to pull guard but Lester turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Sanchez pulls guard effortlessly.

Sanchez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lester doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Sanchez is tightening it up a little... Lester has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lester reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lester taps out! Nice BJJ there by Sanchez!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Kareem Sanchez!
Kareem Sanchez decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
