Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Drew Wolfe (ranked 5003 p4p, 5270 weight class) and JD Hawks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drew Wolfe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Drew Wolfe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, JD Hawks! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wolfe misses with an uppercut. Hawks saw that one coming.
Wolfe has Hawks up against the cage in a clinch.
Hawks breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wolfe definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Wolfe stuffs the takedown attempt from Hawks. Hawks gets slowly back to his feet. Wolfe throws a jab when Hawks was well out of range.
Wolfe clinches up against the cage. A body shot lands from Hawks.
Hawks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wolfe gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hawks blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawks jumps into guard, dragging Wolfe to the mat.
Hawks looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hawks keeping full guard, as Wolfe tries to pass. Wolfe looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Hawks bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wolfe's guard.
 The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hawks trying to control the position from guard on top but Wolfe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hawks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Hawks postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Hawks throwing strikes from guard but Wolfe blocks nicely.
Hawks gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Hawks tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wolfe defends well and Hawks ends up having to push Wolfe into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Wolfe throws a hook to the side of Hawks's head but Hawks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hawks shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Wolfe napping and manages to drive through into side control! Hawks working away. Hawks is looking to take a break and control but Wolfe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Hawks looking to control but instead Wolfe has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Hawks thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Wolfe gets back to full guard.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Wolfe continues to stall. Wolfe wants to sweep but no luck. Hawks wants to control from the top but Wolfe keeps moving. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Wolfe manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hawks manages to get himself to full guard.
Wolfe is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wolfe stopping the sweep attempt from Hawks. Hawks keeping full guard, as Wolfe tries to pass. Hawks looking to control.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. You can see the frustration on Hawks's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Drew Wolfe will probably get the nod. That's time! Wolfe's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wolfe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hawks, pushing him back against the cage. Wolfe tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hawks's elbow. Wolfe misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Hawks is trying to pull guard but Wolfe has him pressed against the cage. Hawks is looking to break free of the clinch but Wolfe has double underhooks. Hawks tries for a takedown but Wolfe manages to get underhooks.

Hawks is working for takedown but Wolfe is calmly controlling the position for now. Hawks prevents a body shot from Wolfe. Wolfe tries to work over Hawks's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Wolfe throws a head punch that misses. Wolfe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hawks can do to turn this around? An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wolfe. Wolfe misses with a hook from the clinch. Hawks has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wolfe avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Wolfe tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Wolfe tries to work over Hawks's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Hawks takes a shot to the head. Wolfe goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Hawks has Wolfe pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Wolfe manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hawks blocks an uppercut.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. Wolfe remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Wolfe's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hawks can do anything to dispel that myth. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

 That's one minute gone in the round. Further stalling from Wolfe. Hawks is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Wolfe is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Wolfe is taking a breather. Hawks says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
 The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

JD Hawks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Wolfe gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Hawks is trying to drag Wolfe to the mat but Wolfe just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. A left hand lands to the body for Wolfe.
JD Hawks has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hawks fails to pull guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Drew Wolfe showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wolfe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
