Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mikheil Darchidze (ranked 1958 p4p, 3344 weight class) and Gerald Perez (ranked 194 p4p, 297 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mikheil Darchidze! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gerald Perez! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez scores with a nice head shot. Darchidze fails with a takedown attempt. Darchidze takes one to the chin there. Perez scores with a jab to the jaw. Perez misses with a body shot.
Darchidze drops down looking for a counter takedown but Perez sprawls and moves away. Perez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Darchidze bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Perez dips to his left and cracks Darchidze with an uppercut! Darchidze changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Perez tries to avoid it but Darchidze manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Perez to the ground. Perez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Perez lands with an uppercut that bounces Darchidze off the cage and back into range. Darchidze takes one on the chin but seems OK.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Perez lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Darchidze scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Perez moves into full guard.
Darchidze is stalling in the full guard. Darchidze stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Perez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Perez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Darchidze defends it easily. Darchidze slips nicely into half guard. Darchidze controlling the action here.
Perez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Darchidze pulls his head out easily.

Darchidze seems to be working for a kimura but Perez defends the submission attempt. Darchidze is trying to control. Perez wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Darchidze performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Darchidze prevents Perez from improving his position. Darchidze is controlling the pace.

Darchidze is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Perez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Darchidze. Perez is looking for a sweep. Darchidze is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We've been informed that Perez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Darchidze is pressing down on Perez's thigh, looking to free his foot. Perez is holding on for now. Perez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Darchidze's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Darchidze's back!

Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Darchidze. Darchidze controlling from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Perez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Darchidze wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gerald Perez dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Darchidze ducks under a wild hook from Perez. Perez swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Perez might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Perez throws a hook to the side of Darchidze's head but Darchidze sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Darchidze takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A big right from Perez misses. Darchidze moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Darchidze goes for a double leg but Perez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Perez continues to drive forward. Darchidze tries to pull guard but Perez forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Darchidze jumps guard but Perez stands there with Darchidze around his waist. Darchidze gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gerald Perez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Darchidze's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Perez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Darchidze scrambles back to his feet. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Perez's shoulder. That is not cool. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Gerald Perez! After the fight, Gerald Perez was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. Mikheil Darchidze spoke after the fight, saying 'Okay, okay, I lose today, but no one stop Mikheil! Maybe I need 3 lungs, yes? He faster, I admit it. But I be back! You not see last of me, I promise you! I run circles ‘round him next time—watch me! Two lungs, still too strong, next time I take victory!'.
