Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marc Horton (ranked 1874 p4p, 2269 weight class) and Arctic Char (ranked 203 p4p, 237 weight class). Char is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice. Arctic Char has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marc Horton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arctic Char!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Char throws a series of punches but Horton moves out of range.
Horton appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Horton scores with a jab to the head.
Horton looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Char let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Horton connects with an inside leg kick.
Horton lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A telegraphed right hand from Horton misses the target.
We've been informed that Char has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Char throws out a powerful jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Char pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Horton lands a leg kick that knocks Char off balance momentarily.
Char dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Horton. That did some damage!

Horton closes the distance and clinches up with Char, looking for a takedown. Horton pushes Char against the cage but Char circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Char! But no joy.
Horton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Char has time to react.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Horton crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Char - the referee stops the clock and Horton gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Char. Horton manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
