Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Stylez (ranked 936 p4p, 1479 weight class) and Paavo Vayrynen (ranked 124 p4p, 179 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 11 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paavo Vayrynen!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice shot lands for Stylez.
It looks like Paavo Vayrynen has been cut.
Vayrynen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Stylez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Vayrynen throws a body shot but no joy.
Stylez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Vayrynen throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Stylez counters with a straight right hand.
Vayrynen misses the shot to the body.

A clash of legs there as Stylez blocks the low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

enabling Stylez to counter with a crisp jab.
That has opened up Paavo Vayrynen's cut even more.
Stylez leaves Vayrynen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Stylez counters with a takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stylez throws an elbow but Vayrynen slips to the side and avoids it well.
Stylez wants to take a breather but Vayrynen manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Stylez.
Vayrynen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Stylez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Stylez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Vayrynen is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stylez is aware though and is defending well.
Vayrynen has his foot on Stylez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stylez works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Stylez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Vayrynen works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Stylez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Vayrynen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Paavo Vayrynen's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Paavo Vayrynen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 5:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Bubba Stylez!
A relieved looking Bubba Stylez thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
