Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kason Neal (ranked 3161 p4p, 3912 weight class) and Diego Rodriguez Iii (ranked 0 p4p, 363 weight class). Diego Rodriguez Iii will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Neal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Neal thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Neal is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Rodriguez Iii wants to stand up but Neal is controlling him.
Neal looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodriguez Iii wants to control position but Neal is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Rodriguez Iii here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.
