Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Cairns (ranked 1617 p4p, 3069 weight class) and Terenze Gazardo (ranked 193 p4p, 329 weight class). Gazardo has chosen Sergio Mendes - Magalenha as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcus Cairns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Terenze Gazardo!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazardo fails with a takedown attempt.
Cairns jabs at Gazardo's body.
Gazardo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Cairns circles away.
Cairns clobbers Gazardo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Gazardo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cairns.
Gazardo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Cairns misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gazardo takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Gazardo moves out of range of the strikes.
A combination from Cairns does no damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cairns looks to land a combination but Gazardo avoids it well.
Cairns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gazardo moves away.
Cairns misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gazardo.
Gazardo tries to counter with a clinch but Cairns shakes him off and moves away.
Gazardo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Cairns counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Marcus Cairns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terenze Gazardo.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gazardo walks into a jab.
It looks like Terenze Gazardo has been cut.
Gazardo looks winded!
Cairns swinging wildly here.
Cairns definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jab, jab by Cairns - just one landing.
Gazardo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And Gazardo tries to counter it with a takedown but Cairns pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Cairns drops Gazardo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gazardo looks back up at him and smiles so Cairns waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice shot lands for Cairns.
Gazardo is rocked!
Cairns comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Gazardo drops his hands momentarily. Cairns doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Gazardo staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Gazardo doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Marcus Cairns!
