PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dude McWrestler (ranked 1105 p4p, 1550 weight class) and Kristof Pardi (ranked 124 p4p, 169 weight class). Pardi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Party Boy Theme. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kristof Pardi enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 15 - 3, fighting out of London, Dude McWrestler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 21 - 2, fighting out of London, Kristof Pardi!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pardi manages to get an easy takedown there - catching McWrestler on his heels. He'll look to pass McWrestler's guard now, I'm sure.

McWrestler is looking for a triangle but Pardi pushes his legs off easily.
Pardi slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
McWrestler seems keen to control Pardi's posture.
McWrestler keeping full guard, as Pardi tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
McWrestler is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


That's one minute gone in the round.
McWrestler is taking a breather. Pardi says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pardi gets full guard.
Pardi is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
McWrestler is stalling in the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Pardi controlling the position.
Let's hope that Pardi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

McWrestler gets the takedown into side control.
Pardi is not content to let McWrestler control the position.
Pardi has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Pardi is trying to improve his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McWrestler tries to advance to mount but can't.
Pardi is not content to let McWrestler control the position.
Pardi is looking to regain half guard here but McWrestler keeps moving and retains side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dude McWrestler will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


McWrestler shoots in and gets a takedown into Pardi's guard.
Pardi is adopting a defensive guard.

Pardi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

McWrestler closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McWrestler lands in his opponent's guard.
Pardi pulls McWrestler in close to his closed guard and prevents McWrestler from doing any damage or advancing position.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Pardi.
McWrestler trying to control the position from guard on top but Pardi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

McWrestler can't do much from the bottom here.

McWrestler tries to get back to half guard but can't.
McWrestler manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

McWrestler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pardi keeps working.

Pardi is controlling McWrestler's position as best he can from this difficult position.
McWrestler tries to pass to full mount but Pardi defends it.

Pardi is refusing to be controlled, as McWrestler sits in half guard.
Pardi moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Pardi keeping moving, preventing McWrestler from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McWrestler's corner is telling him to maintain position.
McWrestler trying to control but Pardi is working from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McWrestler trying to move into half guard but instead Pardi has managed to sweep!

Pardi tries to free his leg and advance position but McWrestler is retaining full guard.
Pardi stays in close to McWrestler's body and controls the position.
McWrestler looking for a sweep. Not yet McWrestler, not yet.

Pardi stands and throws McWrestler's legs to the side, diving into side control.
McWrestler seems a little lost for a moment, as Pardi dominates the positioning.
Pardi's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

McWrestler drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

McWrestler slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
McWrestler trying to control the position from guard on top but Pardi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McWrestler has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Pardi looking to hit a scissor sweep but McWrestler is one step ahead there.

Kristof Pardi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pardi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
