Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jean Francois LaFleur (ranked 580 p4p, 701 weight class) and Dan Jones (ranked 81 p4p, 96 weight class). LaFleur comes to the cage accompanied by Rebellion. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Francois LaFleur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Jones!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Francis DeMontford and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a predictable looking body shot
and LaFleur counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jones misses the body punch
and LaFleur connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've been informed that Jones has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
LaFleur takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jones shoots and misses
letting LaFleur counter with a right hand.
Jones tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but LaFleur defends well and Jones ends up having to push LaFleur into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jones throws a jab but it's blocked by LaFleur.
Jones closes the distance and clinches up with LaFleur, looking for a takedown. Jones pushes LaFleur against the cage but LaFleur circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
It looked like LaFleur wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jean Francois LaFleur has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dan Jones.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but LaFleur sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

A quick step to the side and LaFleur tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
No joy there for Jones, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
LaFleur is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jones tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but LaFleur was well out of range. Poor timing from Jones.
Jones scores with a nice strike.
LaFleur takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jones lands a nice hook to LaFleur's body. LaFleur takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Jones lands a really nice looking cross but LaFleur seems unphased.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and LaFleur counters with a nice right hand that sends Jones toppling to the canvas! Jones scrambles and gets back to his feet - can LaFleur finish him?!

It looks like Dan Jones has been cut.
LaFleur slips a straight right by Jones.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones misses with an uppercut. LaFleur saw that one coming.
Jab, jab by Jones - just one landing.
Jones misses with a lunging right hand

and LaFleur counters with a crisp right hand that drops Jones! LaFleur lets Jones back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Jones is still on wobbly legs! Can LaFleur finish him?

A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. LaFleur does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Jones tries to clinch but LaFleur moves away
and LaFleur rattles Jones with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Jones tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. LaFleur dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Jones stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jean Francois LaFleur!
Jean Francois LaFleur seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
