The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pennington tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nurmagomedov swivels and escapes.
Pennington shoots in looking for a takedown. Nurmagomedov tries to sprawl out of it but Pennington keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nurmagomedov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Pennington shoots for a double leg takedown but Nurmagomedov sprawls well. He's pushed Pennington's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brody Pennington. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nurmagomedov moves into the clinch successfully.

Pennington throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Nurmagomedov's waist but Nurmagomedov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pennington off to one side.
Pennington shoots in looking for a takedown but Nurmagomedov manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Pennington's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
