Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Alcatraz (ranked 4960 p4p, 2744 weight class) and Luan Dreshaj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Alcatraz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Luan Dreshaj!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alcatraz connects with a right hand. Dreshaj shakes it off.
Dreshaj throws a big shot that misses.
Alcatraz drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dreshaj sprawls and moves away.
Alcatraz looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Dreshaj shoots in but no luck this time.

and Alcatraz counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Alcatraz wants to free his trapped foot but Dreshaj is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Alcatraz thows a huge punch but Dreshaj dodges it nicely.

Alcatraz lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dreshaj down.

Alcatraz is looking to take a break and control but Dreshaj is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Alcatraz looks up at the clock and then as Dreshaj takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Alcatraz smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee asks Alcatraz politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Alcatraz prefers to stall for the moment though.

Alcatraz lands a big shot there that rocks Dreshaj but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Alcatraz is working Dreshaj over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alcatraz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Dreshaj's head.
Alcatraz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dreshaj is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dreshaj tries to improve his position but Alcatraz has taken his back! Alcatraz has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Dreshaj tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Alcatraz pushes Dreshaj away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
