Tragedy comes to the cage accompanied by Bury Me In Southern Ground by Rebel Son. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 36 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trage Tragedy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Lawson!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawson needs to keep his hands up - Tragedy had a free shot at his head there.

Lawson gets a double leg takedown into Tragedy's guard.

Lawson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tragedy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lawson, into his guard.


Tragedy stands up from Lawson's guard - Tragedy perhaps looking for a knockout.

so Lawson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Lawson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Lawson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Tragedy is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Lawson, into his guard.


Lawson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tragedy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tragedy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Tragedy avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Lawson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lawson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Lawson is continuing to stall.

Lawson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Our spies down at at Roosters Coop inform us that Lawson has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Lawson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tragedy defends it easily.

Tragedy gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tragedy throws a jab but it's blocked by Lawson.

It looks like Trage Tragedy has been cut.

Lawson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Tragedy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lawson.

Lawson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Tragedy keeping moving, preventing Lawson from controlling successfully.
Lawson passes Tragedy's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Tragedy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lawson on the ground.
Lawson is trying to control. Tragedy wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lawson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Tragedy defends it well.

Lawson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tragedy sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lawson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Tragedy is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Tragedy and Lawson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lawson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tragedy keeps working.

Lawson is trying to get an arm triangle but Tragedy is defending well.
Lawson lands a decent elbow from side control.

Lawson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Tragedy is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Lawson yanks on the arm and Tragedy is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Lawson.
