Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tiago Martelo (ranked 2236 p4p, 2921 weight class) and Baron Li (ranked 176 p4p, 219 weight class). Li has chosen from me to u - BABYMETAL ft. Poppy as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martelo shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Li wants to get back to his feet.
Li is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martelo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Li is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Martelo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Martelo works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Martelo is keen to just control but Li is a slippery customer.
Martelo prevents Li from standing back up.
Li is looking for a sweep. Martelo is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Li has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Li keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Li is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Li can't escape the position.
Li is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Martelo with shots to the head and body - Li looks very uncomfortable down there.
Baron Li has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Li defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Martelo.
Li is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Li tries to buck Martelo off so he can stand up but Martelo has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Li falls backwards, slamming Martelo to the mat but Martelo holds on tight! Li is forced to tap and this one is all over!

In his post fight interview, Tiago Martelo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
