Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ukko Rauhaniemi (ranked 3932 p4p, 2536 weight class) and Triton Thibodeaux (ranked 424 p4p, 303 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ukko Rauhaniemi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Triton Thibodeaux!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Rauhaniemi or perhaps it was just good defense by Thibodeaux, which made it look bad.

It looks like Ukko Rauhaniemi has been cut.

Thibodeaux has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rauhaniemi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Thibodeaux is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rauhaniemi defends well.
Rauhaniemi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Thibodeaux can do anything to dispel that myth.

Rauhaniemi has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Rauhaniemi has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That was a close round but I would say that Ukko Rauhaniemi will probably get the nod.

Rauhaniemi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Rauhaniemi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
