Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Nero Vogels (ranked 23896 p4p, 3842 weight class) and Jacques Durand Jr (ranked 477 p4p, 370 weight class). Durand Jr comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Birdman & Lil Wayne - Stuntin' Like My Daddy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Durand Jr feints and then cracks Vogels's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vogels down.
Durand Jr connects with a right hand. Vogels shakes it off.
Durand Jr uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Vogels.
Vogels throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Durand Jr to counter with a crisp jab.

Durand Jr looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Durand Jr lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Vogels checks a leg kick.
Durand Jr gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Vogels counters with a really nice, stiff jab that drops Durand Jr onto his ass. He'll have to take the mandatory count from the referee but he's back on his feet and he seems OK to continue.
It looks like Jacques Durand Jr has been cut.

A relieved looking Nero Vogels thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
