Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tico Tico (ranked 1562 p4p, 1608 weight class) and Jonathas Araujo (ranked 130 p4p, 136 weight class). Tico comes to the cage accompanied by Paco De Lucia - Tico Tico . Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tico Tico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonathas Araujo!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo throws a good cross that connects.
It looks like Tico Tico has been cut.
Tico looks to throw the jab but Araujo is out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Araujo! But no joy.
Tico throws a body punch but Araujo moves out of range.
Araujo avoids the body shot from Tico.

Tico pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Araujo back to the cage. Tico follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Araujo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Tico!
Araujo swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Tico is now in Araujo's guard. A big mistake from Araujo there, giving up the dominant position!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Araujo misses with a takedown attempt - Tico sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Araujo is defended easily by Tico.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Araujo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tico to score with a decent uppercut.

Tico dips to his left and cracks Araujo with an uppercut!
Tico connects with a solid leg kick.
Araujo takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Tico has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Tico swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Tico throws a series of punches but Araujo moves out of range.

Tico is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Araujo can do to turn this around?
Araujo closes the distance and clinches up with Tico, looking for a takedown. Araujo pushes Tico against the cage but Tico circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tico Tico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Tico throws a combination. Araujo tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Araujo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Araujo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Araujo throws the left hand but Tico avoids the punch easily.

Tico throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Tico pushes Araujo away with a front kick.
Araujo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tico defends well and Araujo ends up having to push Tico into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Tico throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Araujo on the side of the head.

Araujo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tico's waist but Tico gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Araujo off to one side.

Araujo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tico pinned against the cage. Tico gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tico, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Tico Tico was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
