Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Do Gyeom Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leonel Esperanza!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Esperanza misses
and Esperanza takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Esperanza throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lee counters with a one-two to the body.
Lee takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A swing and a miss from Esperanza.
It looked like Lee wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Esperanza fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lee.
Esperanza uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lee.
Lee has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Rising Sun Training in the buildup to the fight.
Esperanza tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Esperanza ducks under a wild hook from Lee.
Esperanza lands a slapping body shot.
Lee lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Esperanza throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lee quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Esperanza drops Lee with a beautiful combination! Lee stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Esperanza is looking for the KO!
Lee is rocked!
Esperanza misses with the combination.
Oh Lee is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Esperanza throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Lee's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Esperanza dives in looking to finish as Lee flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Esperanza's strikes! Esperanza is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Lee's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Lee was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Leonel Esperanza!
Leonel Esperanza took some time post fight to say the following; 'I put in the work n put this bitch ass nigga down took him on short noticed after a pussy decided he wanted to stall on the contract!!'.
