Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Mazinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and bam bam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that bam bam was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mazinger takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
bam showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mazinger.

bam moves into the clinch.
Mazinger wants the takedown. bam is fighting it off but Mazinger persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in bam's guard against the cage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if bam can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mazinger is going olschool here, as he tries to force bam to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so bam shrugs it off.

Mazinger has control of bam's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and bam regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Mazinger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in bam's guard.

Mazinger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. bam swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and bam counters with a single leg into guard. Mazinger didn't expect that.
Mazinger looking for a guillotine here but bam defends easily.
Dave Mazinger overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
bam stands and steps away. Mazinger gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Mazinger looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mazinger closes the distance and clinches up with bam, looking for a takedown. Mazinger pushes bam against the cage but bam circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mazinger is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on bam's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
bam seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mazinger does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dave Mazinger will probably get the nod.
