Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Konnor Gordon (ranked 2549 p4p, 2684 weight class) and Malik Nelson (ranked 285 p4p, 295 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Konnor Gordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Malik Nelson!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Nelson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gordon avoids it really well and circles away.
Nelson with the inside leg kick.
Gordon takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Gordon misses with a low kick as Nelson jumps back.
Gordon lands a glancing blow to the side of Nelson's head.
Nelson's corner calls for a 1-2. Nelson obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nelson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
A jab lands there for Gordon.
Gordon tries to close the distance and clinch but Nelson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nelson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Gordon counters with a nice body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gordon wants to clinch up but Nelson keeps it at a distance.
Nelson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Gordon on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The fighters circling - Gordon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Nelson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gordon.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A lazy left from Nelson finds it's target.
Gordon is rocked!
Nelson cracks Gordon with a hook to the temple - Gordon is on wobbly legs here! Nelson swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Gordon falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Nelson wins by TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Malik Nelson!
Malik Nelson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
