PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kael Draven (ranked 5556 p4p, 4467 weight class) and Dennis Stanley (ranked 408 p4p, 377 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Kael Draven has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Kael Draven seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kael Draven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dennis Stanley!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Draven fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stanley sprawls well initially but Draven persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Stanley looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Draven is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Stanley still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Stanley has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Draven takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Draven tries to escape but Stanley is in control.
Stanley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Draven keeps working.
Draven wants to control but Stanley postures up.

Stanley working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Draven is not content to let Stanley control the position.
Stanley looks up at the clock and then as Draven takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Stanley smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Stanley looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Draven can't do much from the bottom here.
Draven is trying to improve his position.
Draven is working to avoid the ground and pound but Stanley connects with a decent elbow.

Stanley is trying to get an arm triangle but Draven is defending well.
A lull in the action here as Stanley stalls from top position.
Draven tries to improve position but can't.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Stanley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Draven keeps working.

Stanley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Draven has escaped the position, nice work there.
Draven tries to bench press Stanley off him but Stanley keeps the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stanley controls the position.

Stanley has hold of Draven's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Draven tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Stanley cranks the arm and Draven screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Draven, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Dennis Stanley!
