Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Meazzo (ranked 5051 p4p, 4225 weight class) and Maleb Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meazzo comes to the cage accompanied by Starships - Nicki Minaj. Maleb Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown attempt by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Meazzo, which made it look bad.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Meazzo.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Johnson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meazzo sprawls well. Meazzo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet.
Duncan Meazzo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maleb Johnson.

and Meazzo counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Meazzo defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Meazzo is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Johnson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Meazzo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Johnson controls Meazzo momentarily but Meazzo frees himself.
Meazzo connects with a couple of short punches.

Meazzo forces his way into half guard.
Meazzo is nestled in close to Johnson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Meazzo is controlling the pace.
Meazzo blocks the strikes from Johnson.
Johnson flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Johnson won't allow Meazzo to pass to mount.
Meazzo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Johnson wants to improve his position but Meazzo is controlling well.
Meazzo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Meazzo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Johnson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Meazzo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Meazzo scores with a big shot! Johnson's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Johnson! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
