Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ilya Bocharov (ranked 2049 p4p, 2424 weight class) and Yushin Okami (ranked 231 p4p, 268 weight class). Bocharov comes to the cage accompanied by Viking - Slaughter to Prevail. Yushin Okami is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bocharov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Okami wants to clinch up but Bocharov keeps it at a distance.
Okami throws out a loose jab but Bocharov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Okami tries for a takedown but Bocharov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bocharov drops down looking for a counter takedown but Okami sprawls and moves away.
Okami throws a hook to the side of Bocharov's head but Bocharov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bocharov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bocharov is looking to take a break and control but Okami is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Okami really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bocharov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Bocharov slips a nice elbow through Okami's hands, connecting with Okami's forehead.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Okami can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bocharov is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Bocharov extends the arm and Okami is forced to tap!
