Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Davon Davis (ranked 652 p4p, 22108 weight class) and Gage Bennett (ranked 92 p4p, 461 weight class). Bennett has chosen High Cotton by Alabama as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Bennett connects with a right hand. Davis shakes it off.
It looks like Davon Davis has been cut.
Davis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Gage Bennett has been cut.
Bennett missing with a left hand there. Davis was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Davis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Bennett throws a leg kick but Davis sees it coming and moves out of range.
Davis throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Bennett swings widly with a right hand
and Davis counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bennett throws a lazy uppercut
and Davis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A lazy left from Davis finds it's target.
It looks like Davis has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Gage Bennett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bennett on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
That has opened up Gage Bennett's cut even more.
Bennett throws a right hand that misses
and Davis counters with a nice uppercut.
Davis connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Bennett is rocked!
Davis walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Bennett drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Davis swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Bennett's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Davon Davis!
Davon Davis decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
